[Video] NUS student's racist remarks strike raw nerves, netizens up in arms

A foolhardy lass purportedly studying at the National University of Singapore (NUS) did the unthinkable, when she videoed herself (and subsequently posting to Telegram) embarking upon a rambunctious, semi-epic racist tirade targeting the Indian community. In the video, gal began by making mention of being a recruitment head for NUS' freshmen orientation week this year, before snapping completely as she proclaimed to have been an Indian sl*t in a previous life...however, she has since "turned over a new leaf" and is now a "wholesome Chinese person". Things took an even more bizarre cum profanity-laced turn, when she talked about possessing a unique talent - that of having the willpower, determination as well as resilience to shower up to 3 times a day, so she doesn't "smell like curry onions". Gal then signs off, insisting she was not racist.

As one could imagine, a furore errupted online not long after. Countless incensed netizens who vociferously blasted her left, right, centre aside, there were those who spam tagged NUS Student Affairs on social media demanding accountability and punishment for said xenophobic reprobate. A particular individual even initiated a petition, urging signatures to compel NUS into action.

Ball's truly in your court now, NUS.

Editor's Note: NUS has since commenced investigations regarding the incident, while the undergraduate involved subsequently relinquished her leadership position. She also posted a follow-up video (watch below) apologizing for her actions.
