I choose to teach General Paper because I believe that it is an unique subject that can engage students both in the mind and in the heart. Many times, the topics we discuss in class touch on important issues of life: identity, meaning, purpose, value. Therefore, I strongly believe that teaching GP should not just be about gaining head knowledge, but must translate into real action in making a difference to our society. I always encourage my students to engage their heads, hearts and hands with the knowledge they are given - to be the change you wish to see in the world. I am thankful that teaching GP allows me to make my teaching philosophy a reality: that education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.
